Tony Slattery, the much-loved comedian and actor, has died at the age of 65 after suffering a heart attack. His passing was announced by his partner of more than 30 years, Mark Michael Hutchinson.
Slattery became a household name thanks to his quick wit and sharp humor on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, where his improvisational skills dazzled audiences. He was also a familiar face on shows like Just a Minute and Have I Got News for You, where his comic timing and larger-than-life personality made him a favorite with viewers.
In a heartfelt statement, Hutchinson shared the sad news: “It is with great sadness we must announce that Tony Slattery, aged 65, passed away today, Tuesday morning, following a heart attack on Sunday evening.”
Fellow comedian Sandi Toksvig paid tribute, recalling her first impression of Slattery: “I don’t think I ever met a more beautiful man than Tony Slattery. I was 19 when we met, and I thought he was astonishing.”
